MULTIPLY

WHAT IS MULTIPLY?

Multiply is the HGC Mission Committee's new theme that focuses on our committee's vision, led by the Spirit, to tell all nations about Jesus, all for the glory of God.

The purpose of the missions committee visions below, is to help the team focus on the "why?". Why do we get together as a committee, what is our purpose, and how do we make sure that missions is a focus within the church?

This vision, in line with HGC's vision, where we wish to see God WORSHIPPED by all peoples, by helping the church to GROW in missions awareness and understanding, and to SERVE, by being obedient to whatever, however, and wherever God has called each believer to go.

MISSION COMMITTEE'S
LONG TERM VISION

To become a church of senders & planters.

  • Western churches have sent 88% fewer cross-cultural missionaries since the 1970s.

  • The Western church has seen a decline of 26% fewer Christians, during that same time.

  • There seems to be a direct connection to a church’s spiritual health that can be reflected and impacted through sending and involvement in missions.

WHY?

"What if sending missionaries is not only an indicator of, but also a prime contributor to, the health of the church? Gospel-privileged peoples who do not keep the message flowing outward will eventually lose it themselves. Missions is a blessing not only to the receiving community, but also to the sending church."

HOW?

  • With small but intentional steps forward with our short-term goal!

MISSION COMMITTEE'S
SHORT TERM VISION

To become a church that is passionate and mission-minded, both corporately and also individually, not just a select few.

  • To become a church where our DNA is of multipliers outside the walls of our church, we need to realize and be burdened by the unreached and lost.

WHY?

"Churches that have a vision beyond their immediate surroundings tend to also have vibrant local ministries. But not all churches that focus on their own communities also have a global vision. A strong ministry at home, both within the congregation and in the surrounding community, can be vulnerable if it is not connected to long-term global impact."

HOW?

  • This starts from the kids (our future missionaries) to the older ones (our senders).

  • As a committee, we will continue to raise awareness of the importance of missions through various initiatives.

2025 INITIATIVES

GET INVOLVED

Next steps...

There are many ways you can get involved in God's plan for the nations

  • Go. (short-term or long-term)

  • Serve on the Missions Committee.

  • Pray for the lost, the unreached, for those who have gone, and that God would send more workers.

  • By fostering relationships with people from other cultures and getting involved with programs for immigrants, refugees, and foreign exchange students.

  • By using your gifts and abilities to help the Gospel reach the nations.

  • By giving financially to Missionaries and Missions Agencies.

As you can see, there are many ways that each one can get involved. The key is that we humbly seek God's will and are obedient to how He wants us to serve.

If you want guidance or direction with the next steps, reach out to anyone on the Missions Committee.
